On a live tv interview, a Ukrainian journalist criticises a pro-Russian politician.

In Ukraine, a journalist assaulted a pro-Russian politician on live television while they were debating Vladimir Putin.

Tensions between Russia and Europe are high, with the US believing Putin has already “decided” to invade its neighbour.

Moscow does, in fact, have supporters in Ukraine, including some politicians, journalists, and entire towns and regions that have illegally proclaimed themselves independent republics.

Nestor Shufrych, a member of the pro-Russian Opposition Platform – For Life party, was one such politician who appeared on Savik Shuster’s Freedom of Speech talk programme to discuss his views.

He was accompanied by numerous other visitors from opposing political parties, including journalist Yuriy Butusov.

Shufrych declined to denounce the Kremlin, and when asked if Putin was a murderer and a criminal, he replied, ‘Let Ukraine’s authorities deal with that.’

Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko slammed the reaction, telling the crowd, ‘There’s a Russian agent sitting here in the studio.’

Butusov ultimately moved over to Shufrych and struck him in the face.

Shufrych then rose up to fight back, and the two of them ended fighting on the floor as other visitors attempted to separate them.

Butusov had Shufrych in a headlock at one time, but the two were finally separated.

After the fight, all of the guests resumed their discussion.

It comes after Russia was accused of staging a false flag operation to make it appear as though Ukraine is about to invade.

After officials warned of an impending onslaught from Kyiv, 700,000 Ukrainians residing in the rebel towns of Donetsk and Luhansk were evacuated to Russia.

On Ukrainian television, a journalist attacked a pro-Russian politician for refusing to criticise Vladimir Putin.
