Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI, is taken into custody by Rangers inside the IHC building.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) detained Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust Case on Tuesday outside the Islamabad High Court, setting off nationwide demonstrations.

A large group of Rangers surrounded the PTI Chairman’s vehicle as he arrived at Islamabad High Court to request bail in two cases, and then they took him into custody.

Following a commotion with law enforcement officers over the arrest, PTI workers who had gathered with the party chief as he appeared in court reportedly suffered injuries.

The wheelchair Imran had been using since being shot in the leg a year prior was left behind as Imran was taken away in a car, as seen on camera.

In a tweet, senior PTI figurehead Fawad Chaudhry claimed that Rangers had “occupied” the Islamabad High Court, tortured lawyers, and surrounded Khan’s vehicle.

According to the City Traffic Police of Lahore, protests are currently causing the closure of numerous roads, including Canal Road, Liberty Chowk, Shanghai Pull, GPO Chowk, Akbar Chowk, Mall Road bridge, Mughapura, Dharampur, and Sundardas Road.

While this was happening, PTI workers in Karachi began to demonstrate and block roads.

The Karachi Police claim that the protesters have blocked the Nursery Main Highway.

The commuters were advised by the city police to use alternate routes to get from Baloch Colony to Mehmoodabad, Tipu Sultan Burj to the Airport via a U-turn, and Sindhi Muslim to Allahwali Chowrangi.

At the Koral and Khanna Stops of the Islamabad Motorway, PTI employees are also staging a protest.

Lehtrar Road and Peshawar Road are suggested alternate routes by the Capital Police for commuters.
