The government made the much-awaited but awful news of a Rs12 per litre hike in petroleum product prices. As residents brace themselves for a new wave of inflation, they are the highest-ever product prices and possibly the largest jump in a single go.
Because of their widespread and increasing usage, petroleum and diesel are two of the most profitable goods. The average monthly sales of gasoline are approximately 750,000 tonnes, while the monthly use of diesel is around 800,000 tonnes. The government claims that because Pakistan imports oil, it bears the brunt of price increases globally.
