Kyle Hamilton, a popular American footballer, had to wait a little longer than expected to hear his name called in the 2022 NFL Draft, but the ex-Notre Dame star landed in a great spot as the Baltimore Ravens selected him with the 14th overall pick in the first round. Since Jerry Tillery in 2019, he is the first Notre Dame player to be selected in the first round. In his three years with the Fighting Irish, he amassed 138 total tackles, eight interceptions, and sixteen pass breakups in 31 games (19 starts).

“I just want to begin by greeting family who are here; my mother, Jackie, my brother Tyler, and my father Derek, as well as my girlfriend, Resse,” he said in his opening statement. A great organization is the same way. I was just talking to a coach about how 10 years from now we’ll look back and realize it was the perfect match and everything happened for the right reasons… I believe so, and I am confident that I will be able to supplement that and fill those shoes.”

Kyle Hamilton’s post-draft handshake with his girlfriend has gone viral on social media.

Prior to heading to the Las Vegas stage, Kyle Hamilton of Notre Dame celebrated with his friends and family after the Ravens selected him with the No. 14 pick on Thursday night. The safety and his longtime girlfriend viewed off their handshake instead of embracing and kissing their love of life, as most prospects do when they are selected. It wasn’t just any handshake, either. Theirs consisted of several steps that culminated in a dab. The video went viral quickly on social media, with many people referring to the celebration as “Couple Goals.”

After the handshake, Hamilton went straight to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to get his Ravens hat and jersey. Hamilton described how he and his girlfriend, Reece, made the handshake during the Raven introductory press conference. They’ve been dating for nearly six years.
