WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump on Monday dispatched US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to fulfill with Saudi Arabia’s King Salman over the unexplained disappearance of distinguished Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi and raised the likelihood that “rogue killers” may have been accountable.
Trump mentioned he spoke to the Saudi king for about 20 minutes about Khashoggi, who disappeared after coming into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2, and that it appeared like neither the king nor Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had data in regards to the incident.
Turkish sources have mentioned they consider Khashoggi was killed contained in the constructing and his physique eliminated, allegations that Riyadh dismisses as baseless.
“I sounded to me like possibly there may have been rogue killers. Who is aware of?” Trump instructed reporters on the White Home. He supplied no proof for why he thought rogue killers could be concerned.
