The police detained four main suspects in the August 14 harassment of foreign tourists, including women, in Shakarparian on Tuesday.
Additionally, the police have taken down video clips that the harassers had recorded and shared online.
Especially noteworthy is that the National Database and Registration Authority is assisting in the identification of the suspects seen in videos of the heinous act (NADRA).
Earlier, while visiting Shakarparian, foreign women were subjected to hours-long harassment. Police officers were not even stationed at the popular tourist destination to protect families and tourists on Independence Day.
Sub-inspector Asif Ali filed a complaint with the neighborhood police station, Abpara police station, and case number 708/22 was created under sections 354/509/147/149.
