Scholar and Islamic preacher, Maulana Tariq Jameel has confirmed that he launched a fashion brand.
In a video statement released on Sunday, he shared his reasons and thoughts behind the business he had chosen to mention the name “MTJ Brand”.
The statement from the ulama came after the days of speculation on social media about the line of clothes.
“Since 2000, I think of finding a way for permanent income to run my Madaris so that zakat is not spent. But there is no solution that is visible,” he said.

The scholar said when the Coronavirus case began to appear in Pakistan, he thought of doing business and some of his friends pushed and helped him in arranging it.
“Then we decided to launch fashion in my name called” MTJ Brand. ”
Maulana Tariq Jameel also commented on the perception that applies in the South Asia region regarding the involvement of scholars in the business.
“In South Asia, it is a taboo for Ulemas to do business, and I don’t know where it came from. However, Imam Abu Hanifa, the fatwas we follow, is the largest fabric trader of his time.”
Jameel stressed that he started a pure business to support his seminary.
