Khawaja Saad Rafique, the former Railways minister, fell asleep in the room of returning officer deployed for NA-131 on Thursday.
The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader was waiting for the result from where he contested in opposition to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan.
Rafique saved hopping between different polling stations and the workplace of returning officer, however, he misplaced against the PTI supremo as per the results announced unofficially.
Imran Khan received 84,313 votes while Khawaja Saad obtained 83,633 within the closely-contested elections.
The firebrand PML-N leader also fired a tweet in the wee hours of Thursday, wondering why there was a delay within the announcement of outcomes.
NA-131 consists of some posh localities of the metropolitan city including Defense Housing Authority and cantonment localities whereas areas including RA Bazaar, Nishat Colony, Cavalry, Walton, Kamahan, Bedian, Airport, Bhatta Chowk and Chungi Amar Sandhu also falls in the constituency whereas some six seats of Provincial Meeting also fall in NA-131.
