LAHORE: Funeral prayers of Khadim Hussain Rizvi, head of Tehreek-e-Lubaik Pakistan (TLP) were offered at Greater Iqbal Park, Lahore.
A large number of people including Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, Chairman Ruwit-e-Hilal Committee, attended the funeral. Khadim Hussain Rizvi’s body was brought in an ambulance from Masjid Rehmat-ul-Alamin to Greater Iqbal Park. Those who came for the funeral prayers were allowed to enter after a search. The voices of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) kept rising from the ground.
Tehreek-e-Lubaik Pakistan (TLP) workers were also on security duty with the police and people were allowed inside after a thorough check. Citizens attending the funeral prayers used face masks in response to Corona’s concerns.
On the way, people standing at various places sprinkled flower petals on the convoy of Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi. Most of the markets and shops on Multan Road were closed and after the caravan passed by, traffic on the road was restored and the markets reopened.
Workers from different areas were given last visit of Maulana Khadim Hussain Rizvi. On this occasion, the workers chanted slogans of Crown Prince of End of Prophethood and Labeek and Messenger of Allah. Hundreds of devotees were present outside the residence of the deceased.
Khadim Hussain Rizvi will be buried in the madrassa of Rehmat-ul-Alamin Mosque. Security is on high alert in the city on the occasion of Khadim Hussain Rizvi’s funeral prayers and more than a thousand police officers and personnel are deployed.
