Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting, has stated that the government should not be involved in problems such as the Aurat March.
According to information, Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, the Federal Minister of Religious Affairs, issued a letter to the Prime Minister opposing the Women’s March and recommending that Hijab Day be celebrated. PPP Senator Sherry Rehman, on the other side, referred to her letter as a plot against women’s rights.
Fawad Chaudhry, rejecting the demand to prohibit the Aurat March, stated that the government should not become involved in topics such as what clothing to wear and what not to wear. If the government begins to make such judgments, he says, India would follow.
Fawad Chaudhry commented on the unpleasant chants, stating that after examining the phrases that sparked controversy, it was discovered that the words had been altered in Photoshop. He said they have nothing to do with the Aurat March slogans.
