Near the Allah Ho Chowk in Wazirabad, unknown assailants opened fire on Imran Khan’s container.

According to a report published on Thursday by Dawn, Imran Khan, a former Pakistani prime minister, was hurt when a container near him was shot at during his lengthy march in Wazirabad. In Wazirabad, close to Allah Ho Chowk, unidentified attackers started shooting at Imran Khan’s container. Faisal Javed, a senator for his party, the PTI, was also hurt in the shooting in addition to Khan. Khan has reportedly been taken to a hospital after receiving a leg injury, according to reports.

Khan has moved to Lahore, according to former minister Asad Umar.

The attack resulted in one fatality and nine injuries overall. Shots were fired at Khan, causing chaotic scenes to break out close to the PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) reception camp at Allahwala Chowk in Gujranwala.

Khan suffered bullet wounds to his leg, according to Geo News. Along with those injured, a number of others did as well, including PTI leader Faisal Javed. Police have taken custody of the suspect who fired on Khan’s container.

A bullet from an AK-47 struck the former prime minister in the leg. The PTI leaders assert that Khan was the target of an assassination attempt.

Following a no-trust motion brought by the opposition against Khan that many claimed had Army support, Khan was removed from office in April of this year. Since being ousted, Khan has taken a very tough stance against both the Army and the government of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
