Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Friday careworn that arduous measures need to be taken as a technique to avert the water catastrophe going via Pakistan, Radio Pakistan reported.
Addressing the opening session of a two-day worldwide symposium titled Making a water secure Pakistan in Islamabad, the chief justice talked about that it is unfortunate that no person in Pakistan made any devoted efforts to assemble dams and water reservoirs to this point 40 years.
He talked about that water reserves in Pakistan have decreased to an alarmingly low diploma and if drastic measures often usually are not taken now, Pakistan could run dry by 2025.
Justice Nisar talked about the judiciary could not have remained oblivious to the issue as a result of it has the responsibility to protect the pursuits of the residents.
He talked about that the judiciary took this topic and handed a judgement, urging the chief to play its operate for the event of Diamer-Bhasha dam.
Justice Nisar talked about the dam fund was created as a result of the nation did not have the capital required to assemble large dams.
“There was an incredible response from most people and even kids and pensioners made contributions to this fund,” he instructed the attendees of the symposium.
The chief justice added that the sensitisation of the issue at a nationwide diploma has made the nation realise the importance of water conservation and administration.
